Step 5 — Add-ons
Extend CODEXIS AI with your own sources and systems
Add-ons are building blocks you use to tailor the system. Built on an open standard — use ready-made ones, or have a custom integration to registries and internal systems built for you.
01What add-ons are
An open standard, not a closed box
An add-on gives the assistant a new tool or data source. Because it is built on an open standard, you are not tied to a single vendor — pick a ready-made add-on, or build your own.
Use an existing one
A catalog of ready-made add-ons — from public registries to accounting systems.
Build your own
Connect your firm’s internal system or database following the open standard.
No vendor lock-in
The standard is public, so add-ons can be ported and combined across environments.
02How to use it
Enable an add-on and mention it in your query
An add-on is activated for the conversation, and then you simply refer to it in an ordinary query. The assistant recognizes when to use it and folds the data the add-on returns into the answer.
- 01
Enable an add-on
In the conversation settings you choose which add-ons the assistant can use.
- 02
Ask your question
Write naturally — “Verify this company in ARES” or “Look up a parcel in the cadastre”.
- 03
The assistant calls the tool
The add-on runs in the background and returns up-to-date data from the source.
- 04
Data in the answer
The result flows into the response and into your files, again fully traceable.

Example: looking up a parcel in the cadastre
With the cadastre add-on the assistant queries the registry and feeds the current data straight into the answer — no switching to another application or copying parcel numbers.
Look up parcel No. 1234/5 in the Vinohrady cadastral district and who the owner is.
Parcel 1234/5, Vinohrady cadastral district (729 060), land type built-up area, area 412 m². Ownership: Jan Novák, share 1/1, recorded on title deed 873.

Example: linking to a specific case file
The case-file add-on connects queries to your case management system. The assistant knows the parties, documents, and deadlines of a given case and works within its context.

- Case context. “Summarize how the dispute developed” draws on every document in the case file.
- Deadline tracking. The assistant flags an upcoming deadline for the given case.
- Outputs back into the case file. A drafted filing is saved straight into the case file.
Deadline tracking and change monitoring are covered in the final step — Automation and agents.
